I interviewed milo back in May and while the entire experience of e-mailing him back and forth was surreal, the spotlight was when he told me that his full-length debut was completely finished and it was going to be called a toothpaste suburb. Almost four months later, it is here.
Enlisting some of the most energetic, next-level producers around (that I was introduced to by milo’s past music), including Riley Lake, iglooghost, Greyhat and Tastenothing, milo creates his own beautiful, honest, electronic and crackling world throughout these sixteen tracks where he talks on his insecurities, societal observations, mumbling like Tunechi and so much more that you may need to whip out a notebook to jot down a few tidbits while you listen.
milo brings in his close friends to assist him throughout his journey of the “toothpaste suburb.” From Hellfyre Club members, Busdriver, Open Mike Eagle, and Anderson .Paak to close friends, WC Tank and Kool A.D., they all showcase a bit of their own influence on their respective tracks. (Can’t forget that on-point, pitched-down Scallops Hotel feature to open up “fragrant pee farts.”)
