I’m a little over a week late on this, but I haven’t seen this be shared enough yet so that’s a problem. Hailing out of Los Angeles, singer Joyce Wrice teams up with Mndsgn and DJ Harrison for a groovy, vintage track called “Ain’t No Need.” There’s a bounce in the moog-y bass that brings in Joyce’s angelic, harmonizing voice. Her voice was born with the wings of an R&B queen as she carries it through the skipping percussion and wiggling synth keys that drape the backing soundscape. The video has Joyce talking on her brick cellphone surrounded by psychedelic and grainy effects and shapes channeling early 90s vibes.
Joyce Wrice is working on an EP called Stay Around. Watch the video for “Ain’t No Need” below and catch up on her older music on her SoundCloud.
