John Blanda is a producer who, according to his social media accounts, lives in Boston and Minnesota. Whether he spends some time in one and then some in the other, or he has somehow figured out how to simultaneously live in both, BLANDA was born and breathes on the internet. Electronic tones enter an ambient environment on his latest single called “Relief,” which calls on Brussels singer (also from Boston) SINEPHRO to serenade the softer segments of the track. Her light voice treads along soft beds of synthesizers and leads into an eccentric bridge towards the center of the track that transforms those soft synths into buzzing, whirling strides into hyper speed. SINEPHRO enters back with her poetic touch once the beautiful storm has ended and the contrast and flexibility these two allow each other to have is perfect and leaves me wanting more.
