Lincoln-based lyricist Sleep Sinatra returns with TIMESOFPERIL, his first official release under EveryDejaVu Records, a raw, hypnotic exploration of endurance and revelation in an age of chaos. Built entirely on the SP404MKII, TIMESOFPERIL fuses lo-fi, boom bap textures with mystical sample work and meditative lyricism. Written and produced by Sleep Sinatra (SINAI) and mixed and mastered by Joe Gibbs, the album unfolds like a weathered film reel: dusty, soulful, and deeply reflective.

“This record came from a place of stillness in the middle of the storm,” says Sleep Sinatra. “It’s a reflection of what it takes to keep building when everything feels uncertain, personally, spiritually, and artistically.”
Featuring guest appearances from Doseone, Nolan the Ninja, and Breeze Brewin, TIMESOFPERIL unites voices from across the underground spectrum in a testament to timeless craft and creative resilience. The collaborations serve as extensions of Sleep’s vision, balancing chaos and peace, aggression and stillness, spirit and survival. The artwork, created by Ro Villainy, depicts a faceless, cloaked figure surrounded by symbols of transformation and unrest, echoing the album’s themes of identity, faith, and transcendence.
Having shared stages with Mach-Hommy, Homeboy Sandman, Freddie Gibbs, Vic Spencer, and Bronze Nazareth, Sleep Sinatra has cemented himself as one of underground hip-hop’s most consistent and introspective voices. TIMESOFPERIL stands as one of his most fully realized works, a complete body of art that rewards deep listening.
Via songs like the noisily warped "Oracle" and the jazzier "Tragic King," he delivers breezy yet sinuous rhymes predicated upon similarly spry boom bap derivations. Those instrumentals sometimes feel like they're bending under the weight of his words, particularly on the gently decaying "Totem" and the somewhat shambolic "Bionic Man."

There’s nothing to nitpick with this one. It’s an incredibly cohesive record.
