Alt-R&B songstress and producer Eyndigo enters a new era of corrupted aphrodisia with her latest EP, MOLE RAT. Building on the momentum of her 2023 project Villeyn Era, this five-track release takes her signature dark, hypnotic production and conjures a deliciously disorienting sound that is raw, evocative and ultimately, empowering.
Eyndigo has gained recognition through standout performances at Atlanta events like the all-female showcase "The Pink Room" and NOBAN World’s "Diggin For Gems." Her tracks “Paper Mud” and “Fuck Fear” have been featured in prominent Los Angeles museums and local venues like Crybaby, while her summer single, “Superposition,” has been added to over fifty fan-curated Spotify playlists thus far. Blending alternative R&B with indie rock and drawing inspiration from artists such as Anita Baker and Radiohead, Eyndigo’s growth as a producer and artist has fueled her rise in the Atlanta music scene, alongside a growing fanbase.
With reverb-drenched vocals and airy, 90s-inspired Jungle-style drum and bass, MOLE RAT surreally walks you backwards through romantic toxicity and heartbreak. Her approach to mixing dizzying melodies while singing of painful memories and emotions is meant to pull listeners into a world where discomfort and beauty coexist. "The reason I named the project MOLE RAT is because I enjoy contrasting things that are seen as unsavory or ugly with those that are conventionally beautiful,” Eyndigo explains. “The songs on this EP explore emotions that are raw, ugly, but beautiful because they’re real.”
One of the EP’s standout tracks, "Affliction," almost didn’t make the cut, but it quickly became the centerpiece of the project. With its bouncy keys and feverish, daydream-like percussion, the track encapsulates Eyndigo’s low points, touching on themes of love, trust, and despair. A haunting glimpse into her inner turmoil, it stands as one of the EP’s most alluring and intimate. MOLE RAT marks a significant milestone for Eyndigo, both sonically and thematically as she bravely explores the uneasy beauty in the shadows of human emotion.
