Four Leaf Clover is a project built across time, a collection of songs written, reworked, and refined over the course of years, spanning bedrooms, studios, and live stages. Over years of chipping away at a collection of music, four tracks emerged that capture who Haasan Barclay is as an artist.
The EP took shape during a period of renewed purpose. Barclay’s time working at The Record Co in Boston expanded his access to gear, instruments, and recording techniques, pushing his process beyond its earlier limitations. At the same time, he began performing these songs with a live band, using shows as a way to test and sharpen them withe every performance.
Sonically, Four Leaf Clover moves between musical worlds, pulling from the tension and drive of post-punk and alternative rock while folding the infectious melodies and groove from funk, R&B, hip-hop, and pop. The result is a sound that feels textured but immediate, balancing grit with melody and structure with instinct.
At its core, the project reflects Barclay’s evolution from a self-contained, bedroom-based producer into a fully realized solo artist. He describes the EP as a “time capsule,” capturing the path from those early beginnings to his current form, an artist comfortable pulling from multiple directions without losing cohesion.
