Organically emerging over several months, “The Muse” is a 4-song EP by Satchel Brown, written during a period of deep sadness. Satchel, along with his band, captured these raw emotions in a series of sessions at his school’s recording studio. The EP features a unique blend of sounds, with the addition of a saxophone, played by Ben Lindenburg, adding a sultry touch to the music. The rest of the band, including Sean Tarpey on guitar, Niko Embry on drums, and Andre Swadley on bass and production, brought the songs to life, creating a powerful and sensual musical experience.
Backed up with his band of jazz musicians, Satchy puts smooth guitar chords and sprinkles of jazz saxophone over J Dilla rhythms to create his moody, sensual soundscapes.
